French Toast
(1 serving)
Ingredients:
1 slice of bread, two egg, sugar, oil, pan, bowl
Directions:
Cut the slice of bread in three strips. Beat the eggs in
a bowl and add some sugar. Sugar added will depend on how sweet you want the
toast. Dip the slices of bread into the bowl with the egg mixture. Cover the
bread totally with the egg mixture. Add about a tablespoon of oil to your
pan and fry the toast on medium heat. Toast must be golden brown on both
sides. Enjoy. Kid's love this.
Tuna Melt
Ingredients:
Two slices of bread, tin tuna, two to three tablespoons mayonnaise,
American cheese slices, toaster, butter, bowl
Directions:
Spread a thin layer of butter on each slice of bread. Add tuna to the bowl
with the mayonnaise and mix well. Add tuna to the slices of bread and top of
with a slice of American cheese. Then grill in the toaster for about 3-5
minutes on medium heat.
Kids Pizza
Ingredients:
English Muffins, Spaghetti or Pizza Sauce, pepperoni slices, shredded
cheese
Directions:
Cut the muffins in half. Spread the spaghetti or pizza sauce over the
muffin. Add the slices of pepperoni and top of with cheese. Microwave for 1 min or less until cheese has melted. Enjoy.
Poached Eggs
Ingredients:
Pan that is about 2cm deep, 1-2 eggs, water, butter, bread, vinegar
Directions:
Pour water into the pan. Wait for it to boil. Add about a teaspoon of
vinegar. Vinegar helps the egg not break apart. Then crack the eggs into the
water carefully. Allow eggs to simmer for 2 minutes. Butter the bread. Take out and serve
with the bread.
Potato
Pancakes
Ingredients:
2 cups mash potatoes (instant mash potatoes can be used), 2 tablespoons of
flour, 1 egg, butter or margarine
Directions:
Mix the mash potatoes, flour and egg together in a bowl. Blend well. Make
into patties and fry in the margarine or butter.
Fry until golden brown on each side. Enjoy!!!
Pizza
Pinwheels
Ingredients:
1 cup grated cheese, tin of pizza sauce (12.oz), 1/2 cup of finely chopped
pepperoni, 1/2 cup of water, 2 1/4 cups of biscuit mix,
1/4 teaspoon of Oregon if desired, 2 onions chopped finely if desired
Directions:
Stir the biscuit mix and the water in a bowl until it starts to form a ball of
dough. Slightly dust your counter with biscuit mix and roll the dough out
12x12 inches in a rectangular shape. Add more biscuit mix to the dough if
needed to prevent it from sticking.
In a bowl combine the pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni and mix well. Spread
this on the dough leaving about 1 inch around the edges of the dough. Once
done then roll up the dough from the one side to the other. Pinch the edges of
the dough on the sides.
Then cut the dough in thick slices. preheat oven at 400. Place pinwheels on a
baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes or until pizza dough is ready.
Cheesy Potato Chunks
Ingredients:
1 cup grated cheese, 2 large potatoes, Sour cream, 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil, 1
teaspoon of salt, Seasoning optional.
Directions:
Wash and cut the potatoes into chunks. You may peel the potatoes or leave the
skin on. Coat the potatoes with the oil and salt. Spread them on a baking
sheet. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes. Turn the oven down to 300. Then turn the
potatoes over and bake for another 10 minutes. Add the grated cheese and bake
for another 5 minutes. And it is ready to eat.
Vegetable Pizza
Ingredients:
1 package crescent rolls, 1 box cream cheese, 1/2 cup miracle whip, 1
package ranch dressing mix or another if you prefer, 2 cups assorted cooked
vegetables chopped up
Directions:
Roll out dough on a floured surface and by joining seams. Place on lined baking
tray and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. (Remember oven temperatures can
vary so check that crust does not burn). Mix together all ingredients and then
spread on crust when cooled. Spread the vegetables on top of crust. Cut and let
your kids enjoy.
