Pumpkin Pie Play Dough

This smells great, so remind small children that it is not for eating.

Need:
5 1/2 cups flour, 2 cups salt, 8 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1/2 cup oil,  1 (1 1/12 ounces) container pumpkin pie spice, Orange food coloring (2 parts yellow, 1 part red), 4 1/2 cups water

Instructions:
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large pot. Cook and stir over medium heat until all lumps disappear and mixture thickens. Knead the dough until it is smooth. Store in an airtight container.

Bread Dough Beads

Need:
1 loaf white bread, White craft glue, Acrylic paint, Modge Podge, Plastic lacing, yarn or wool, Straws, Bowl, Paint brushes

Instructions:
Cut the crusts from the bread slices. Break the slices of bread into really small bits and place them into the bowl. After all the bread slices have been shredded, pour the white glue into the bowl with the bread and form a dough, mixing with your hands. Add glue a little bit at a time so as not to over-glue the dough. When the dough is mixed, divide it among the children and have them form small balls for beads or any other desired shape. If you are making beads, use the straws to poke a hole into the balls for string to be put through.

Let the modeled dough sit to dry for about 1 to 2 days.

When the beads seem hard, use acrylic paint to color. When the paint is dry, glaze with either Modge Podge or spray acrylic sealer. String with plastic lacing or yarn. Enjoy
