Silly Putty

Need:
1 part liquid starch, 1 part Elmer's white glue, food coloring (optional), bowl

Instructions:
Mix glue and starch together until it feels like a putty. If desired, add food coloring and mix thoroughly.
When not in use, Silly Putty may be stored in an airtight container.

Be sure to use Elmer's White Glue, NOT Elmer's "Washable" or "School Glue." Otherwise, you'll just get Gak!

Putty

Need:
1 tablespoon liquid starch, 1 tablespoon white glue, bowl

Instructions:
Put liquid starch into a bowl. Add the white glue. Fold the starch over the glob of glue until it's not sticky.
Press the mixture between your hands and pull it apart just as you would salt-water taffy. It bounces and stretches!

Stretchy Putty
( Be very careful and real all warning labels when handling Borax or Borax-based solutions. Use caution when making "Stretchy.” Also make sure small children don't put these or any other mixtures into their mouths.)

Need:
4 ounces white glue, 1 1/2 cups water, 1 teaspoon Borax powder, food coloring, bowl

Instructions:
Mix glue, 1/2 cup of the water and 10 drops of food coloring in small bowl. Combine borax and a cup of water in medium bowl. Gently pour glue mix into the
borax and stir until well mixed. Scoop the Stretchy out of the water and knead until dry enough to play with. Store in sealed container for several weeks.

Stretchy is great for pulling apart. Stretchy also dries out quickly with a lot of handling.
